2 years of Da Mean Bean Coffee on June, 28th, 2025
We celebrated a little differently than most and had an actual, Kope Run! Participants helped celebrate by running/walking/hopping from Hamoa Beach to Da Mean Bean, a 2 mile route. We enjoyed amazing breakfast with 53+ coffee lovers and customers, travelers and our friends and family. It was a perfect morning and 2 years!
Our 1st Scholar for Hāna High School May, 26th, 2025
We knew exactly what we wanted in our Scholar Graduate when time came to choosing a “scholar” for our first ever Da Mean Bean Small Business Scholarship.
Our scholar needed to be someone with that beating entrepreneurial heart who knew exactly what he/she wants out of life and who was ready to claim it. Someone with grit and patience. A Hāna Graduate willing to bet on his/her self enough to take a chance.
Last month I was among a few who gave a speech to Hāna High for Career Day as an entrepreneur and small business owner. This certain senior who you see front and center of our instagram post was the first to speak in her group, raise her hand and ask questions. She wasn’t shy to say what she wanted and what her plans are. Excitement for her future showed in her smile and eyes. It was then when I knew… she is da one! 🎓
May life and time allow our scholar graduate to learn, grow and prosper enough to come back home after experiencing life and achieving her career goals and offer a much needed service in our beautiful Hāna.
We happily want to congratulate Namahanaokealaulā Ka’iulaniokauanoe Smith with our $500 Cash Scholarship to help her as she shift-gears from Graduate to Cosmetologist.
